Dinner Plans
Lex shifted absently as he waited for someone to answer his
knock on the door.
Someone
as young as she was running around with his father was ridiculous.
He hated Lionel, but allowing her into the family was-
“Hello.”
She
was lovely, hardly what he imagined the object of his father’s
affections to be. Dainty, almost frail, with huge eyes.
“Lex?”
She scrunched her nose. “I recognize you from your father’s
pictures. Can I help you?”
You
can stay away from us, Lex thought, but the words wouldn’t
come. Instead he asked, “Winifred? Would you like to go
to dinner?”
Lunacy
Lex Luthor was many things…an idiot wasn’t one
of them.
Taking
his father’s girlfriend out for dinner wasn’t a safe
idea-- and no doubt Lionel would have a fit involving firing of
underlings and vague threats in Lex’s direction.
But
he felt something in Winifred that sparked his heart- a twist
of lips that whispered the possibility of more, the curve of a
cheek innocently hinting at soft caresses and clever wit. She
may belong to Lionel now, but if she could just see Lex as he
really was…
He
knew he’d be an idiot if he let her go.
